Jean Dujardin (Best Actor, The Artist) tells ABC News’ Robin Roberts what his Oscar win means to him.
To all the people who are bitter about the French guy winning and stuff.
This is Jean Dujardin, a dude so cool and so completely overwhelmed with all that’s going on, a genuinely lovely man with no posh acting background who was a terrible student and just an average joe, a guy who became one of the most well loved TV character on French TV by being the other half of a TV couple in a short sketch program for 4 years, a comedian, then turned more serious and proper actor later on, who can do comedy and drama but he’s completely committed to his art, and basically, just, a nice guy.He swore on stage at the Oscar but it was probably one of the most genuine reaction I’ve seen from a winner in a long time.
I’m so happy for him.
I can’t understand the French hate for The Artist. Everyone involved and everyone who won was so honest to God surprised and humble and thankful for receiving an award. And I had no doubt that they were genuine people and I’m so proud to say I’m part French, because look at these people and how absolutely wonderful they are!
